Maine Crisp Company Gains a Co-Founder, Secures $500,000 of Private Equity and New CEO

Waterville, ME (September 28, 2018)  -  Maine Crisp Company, a specialty food business making gluten-free crackers, is joined by Michael J. Ross of Philadelphia as co-founder, CEO, and investor. As a prior business partner of co-founder Steve Getz, and having recently sold a snack food distribution company, Michael brings a complementary set of skills and relevant industry experience to the management team.  “Michael and I worked together years ago as co-founders and successfully grew a business from concept, to product, to growth and ultimately acquisition by a publicly-traded company. Karen and I are thrilled to work with Michael again, especially now in the specialty food market and with Karen's beautiful crackers. We’re confident that Michael can help us take our award winning crackers to a broader market and much larger business.”

Michael stated, "I am really excited to build this unique specialty food brand, Maine Crisp, with Karen and Steve. We strongly believe that there is a large and growing market that is looking for "better for you" specialty food products without sacrificing on taste."

The investment: Michael invested $500,000 in Maine Crisp purchasing founders' equity, identical to Karen and Steve.  As equity partners having the same stock and with an agreed vision for growing the business, the managing partners are set to face the challenges and opportunities together as a co-founders team in this exciting and high growth market of specialty foods.

About Michael Ross
Michael’s most recent work experience was as President and CEO of Tiger Distributors, a regional snack food wholesaler which he successfully sold to Wise Snack Foods in November 2016. Michael and Steve worked together from 1995 to 2000 as co-founders of Dynamic Broadband Networks, a dynamic bandwidth management software company which was eventually sold to a publicly-traded Canadian software company, CrossKeys Systems.
